Fire Damage – Hidden Effects:

A fire can ruin parts of your home in a variety of ways, many of which are obvious, but there are many other ways fire or smoke damage can affect the health of your home without being initially apparent. Fires can swell, buckle, or warp exterior surfaces of your home, such as the kitchencounter-tops and flooring. If this is left alone for too long or goes unnoticed, the damage will just get worse as the weeks go by. In addition, the smoke left by the fire can linger for a lengthy amount of time. The smoke can seep into furniture, hardwood flooring, upholstery, carpet and many other parts of your home, causing the smell of smoke to stay in your home for months or even years! Needless to say, breathing in smoke is hazardous to your health in the long run.

Restoring Fire Damage General Process:

Inspection: We will inspect the area(s) to devise the perfect plan to approach the fire damage, making sure to go about the restoration process as smoothly as possible. Not every home is made the same, and that’s why we avoid the cookie-cutter plan.

Cover Up: We will appropriately board up areas of the roof or any other parts of the house if needed, and we will set up fencing for certain areas if needed.

Secondary Damage: There’s water damage that happens in putting out a fire, and we can take care of that water damage, and make sure mold affected areas are removed.

Mold Removal: Mold removal/ remediation can take up to several days to fully execute in order to go about the appropriate steps.

Clean Smoke/Soot: We will clean up the acidic and corrosive soot and smoke from the fire damage (upon approval of you/ your insurance representative).  We will focus on thoroughly wiping down hard surfaces, such as fixtures, tile, glass, mirrors, etc.

Clean Belongings: We will remove your contents/belongings and clean/restore them as necessary. You have the option of storing them yourselves until your home is fully repaired, or having us safely store them for you at our facility.
